We have highly qualified personnel with extensive experience from various facilities and raw materials. As part of Nofima, a food research institute with over 200 researchers, we can leverage their expertise in projects. Our team, Biotep/marine biotechnology, consists of 4 experienced process operators and 8 researchers with extensive experience in biotechnology. We have specialized in challenges from laboratory to large-scale production, and have access to an additional 200 researchers at Nofima when needed.

The cost of renting Biotep depends on the actual hours used, including equipment setup before production, the production itself, and cleaning afterwards. The rental includes the facility and two process operators. In addition, the client is charged for variable costs such as water, electricity, packaging, cleaning agents, and waste management. The facility is staffed with two people around the clock during production. The hourly rate (as of April 2024) is NOK 4,000 excluding VAT, plus variable costs of approximately NOK 1,000 excluding VAT per hour. Biotep serves both entrepreneurs and larger companies, with a diversity of needs. Our clients range from those who are scaling up processes and exploring new solutions, to those who already have finished products and use our facility for production while potentially planning to establish their own production facility.

We can handle marine and plant-based raw materials. Due to regulations, we cannot handle raw materials from livestock.
